What a start...

How do you rate a marina? That I've asked myself over and over again. The marineros were grumpy but not unfriendly, the shower/WC was in an old rusty container, but the pot was clean AND had paper.
One mooring was too short, the other had an annoying bottle bound to, probably for the regular user of that spot., but at least there were any. So i decided to rate it 3☆.

I picked up Barbara from the airport, she was almost at time, as she travelled light, having everything on the boat already, we directly headed to the city, having some nice pasta (ragu and pistacchio) before we took the loong way home alongside the nice promenade. Passing by the inner marina with all the nice boats, I downgraded my marina 2☆.🙂

This morning (Mon) doing some provisioning, we decided to have a quick run up the hill before, as Barbara hasn't been.

After preparing the boat, we left precicesly at noon Cagliary Marina del sole.
Wind was weak and from all sides, but after a good hour freshend up a bit to some 8kts.
Opposite to last week, when i was told below 10-15kts getting up the sails is useless, i did it anyway.

First the 55m2 genua, than the 27m2 main and then.... i even prepared the mizzen!

As I haven't used it before and the RIB was stowed below, it took a bit, but after all we made nice 5-6kts with 12kts of Wind from starbord.

This way we sailed nicely 3hrs to and around the Capo Carboneras, which I came the other way on Thursday.

As wind was preticted from NW for the night, O decided to stay on the E side of the cape.
Oh what a mistake!!

The swell was still coming from SE from the winds the days before (well there is no land for 100nm), and the wind was so weak, that it didn't turn us stern to the waves.
So after moving from the aft cabin to the saloon, back aft, lying crisscross, I decided at 4 am to lift the anker. Haven't done some night navigation in a while.
With GPS and a tracker it's half the fun anyway.

And so, we are underway.. Babs trying to get some sleep, me to hold the boat out of waves...
2 more hours to sunrise...
at least something i am looking forward to now. windforcast doesn't look too promising...
We shall see....
