what a difference some degrees can make...

... not only in temperatures, but also in winddirection... but more to that later.

First I need to apologise for the many typos, but at 5 am, without glasses...

The temperatures are at least 5° lower than last week, still having nice 25 C, not freezing 13 like back home..

But more importantly the wind...

Yesterday it picked up to 22kn, so we even had to put in reef 1. And the direction was just perfect, we made a beautiful sailing day up to the bay of Isolas de Quirra, just 5nm N of Porto Corallo.

At 1120 we dropped anchor in that beautiful large bay (we haveeen on our way more than 7 hrs), being the only ship.
Swell was acceptable given the tiredness of both of us. But we had quite a discussion about the whereabouts.. going back 1h to P Corrallo? Going 5hrs to Arbatax on engine? cause under sail it normally takes 1,8 times? Or just stay put and hope for the best!?

We did the latter and it was the right choice! The wind and swell died out and we had a calm night without too much movement... Not to mention the Frenchie who parked his boat at least 100m inside us... he must know the area..

An evening walk on the beach tried to calm down Babs, who is not very happy with the wind, the waves, the boat... lets say just about everything.

The next morning (Wed) we wven had a breakfast at the shore! The dinghy was still in, so it was a thing of minutes to prepare!
Barbara could do some sandy dogs, doves and warrior 1 and 2 (all yoga-things), and then we gave it a start.
Coming out of the bay, we had a little breeze, just not enough for setting sail, but an hour later wind turned this little bit, so we got up all 3 sails and kikled the engine. The course was almost perfect, we had to tack twice for 20 min, to stay clear of the coastline and this way we made it all into Porto Frailis south of Arbatax, where we spend a nice dinner at the beach restaurant and a well protected calm night..

At least that was the plan...

it came differently.. so much i can say, writing this at 2 am again.

Thunderstorms passing by, first an emotional one at dinner and now a real one just off the coast, giving us all wind and waves... so not a quiet night at all
