sorry chaps...
Day 3 on the island, and there is so much to tell..but besides the rusted beercan in the bilge (lowest part of the boat below the floor) that grew over with mold over the last 2 month, nothing really exciting. To set-up a boat in 48 hrs is a task that you can't possibly fulfill. So it was all cleaning, stowing and more cleaning. The nights were nice and quiet, or I just slept as a rock, so tired..
Today i picked up Paul(NL)and Dick aka the old owner of S/Y Feeling Free, now S/Y Feeling LOST, some more cleaning and Dick showing me what it means to operate a boat for 20 yrs.
Provisioning is do much better than on a rental boat, where you have to think about what you will use in the next 7 days... and the old lady has storage like a big boat. Dick has been pronounced dead already, so many old friends were happily surprised, when he showed up in person.
Quick swim, nice dinner, like the days before, temperature in the low 30s.
So, tomorrow morning we will start our journey with a first stretch to Arbatax, about 40nm south of our position in La Caletta. winds don't look promising, but tomorrow we have a chance of some in the back at least.
More to tell soon...
ci vediamo ragazzi... a dopo
