15 hours swell

Yesterday, 13.09. we left Porto Frailis, S of Arbatax, after having a coffee and a swim, LOSTcrew-style, in direction south heading for Porto Coralis. As we had about 8kn of wind against it was no other option than to stress the engine again. Looks like the sails are only optional. But after 2hours we decided to change plans, get the sails out, as the wind has increased to 12-14 knots and has turned a to southeast. Of course that means to take a left by 90 degrees, then 230° to tack against the wind, but the 3 hours sailing were splendid.
Around 15:00 we dropped anchor in a nice bay just south of Capo Sferracavallo,  sandy beaches, crystal-blue waters. After a swim we decided not to stay, as the swell was too much and to continue 2hrs on the engine to the marina in Porto Corallo. BUT....then the lever of the anchor got stuck on deck and wasn't moving anymore, so we couldn't lift the anchor. We had to saw off a good 20cm of the lever to get it off. By that time it was too late to continue, so we stayed for the night.
What was stamping at first, turned into rolling for the rest if the night, cause wind has turned by 60° so the swell came right abeam. not pleasant at all. I know you can turn the boat with a sternachor, but it was all too much work beong tired already. So we sucked it up.

This morning we hurried to get outta here, heading south again. Beautiful coast, Wind 8kn against.... a bit of a déjà vu... we'll see

keep you posted...
